Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions about our products and services

General Questions

Do you sell new or refurbished equipment?
We offer both. Most of our inventory is certified refurbished enterprise equipment, which provides excellent value at 50-60% below new prices. New equipment is available on request for customers who specifically require it.
What does "refurbished" mean for your products?
Our refurbished equipment is enterprise grade hardware that has been professionally tested, cleaned, and certified for reliability. These are not consumer products. they're data center and enterprise equipment built to last 5-10+ years.
Do you ship outside of Cairo/Egypt?
Yes! We ship nationwide across Egypt and also ship to other MENA region countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, and others. International shipping costs are calculated based on destination and package weight.
What warranty do you provide?
Warranty terms vary by product and condition (usually 3-years for new products and 6-months to 1-year for refurbished). Specific warranty information is available on each product page or by contacting us directly.
Can you help me choose the right equipment?
Absolutely. Our team can provide technical consultation to help you select hardware that matches your specific requirements, budget, and use case. Contact us with your needs and we'll provide recommendations.
Do you offer installation and configuration services?
We offer IT consulting services including infrastructure planning and technical guidance. For hands on installation in Greater Cairo, we can provide on site technical support. For other areas, we can guide you through the process remotely.
Can I customize server configurations?
Yes! Servers can be configured with specific RAM, storage, Processors, RAID configurations, and other components based on your requirements. Contact us for custom quotes.
Do you offer payment plans or installments?
Currently, we require full payment. We do not offer installment payment plans at this time.
How do your prices compare to buying new internationally?
Our refurbished equipment typically costs 50-60% less than new equipment. Additionally, buying locally saves you from import duties (15-30%), international shipping costs, and customs delays. You also get faster delivery and local support.
What brands do you carry?
We currently stock hardware from three enterprise vendors: Dell (PowerEdge servers, Precision workstations, and accessories), HP (Z-series workstations & ProLiant Servers), and Cisco (managed switches, routers, firewalls, and access points). Our Current inventory includes certified refurbished units across all three brands.
How quickly can you deliver?
For in stock items within Egypt, delivery typically takes 2-5 business days depending on location. International MENA region shipments vary by destination (typically 5-10 business days).

Technical Questions

What's the difference between the Dell R640 and Dell R740?
The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U server with more expansion capability and higher performance potential, while the Dell PowerEdge R640 is a 1U server optimized for density, allowing you to deploy two R640 servers in the same rack space as one R740, effectively doubling processing capacity per 2U. The R740 supports more drives and PCIe slots. We can help you choose based on your specific workload.
What's the difference between Cisco Catalyst 3650 and 3850?
The Catalyst 3850 offers higher performance with full Layer 3 routing and stacking capabilities up to 9 switches, while the Catalyst 3650 is a more cost effective Layer 2/3 switch ideal for access layer deployments. The 3850 also supports higher PoE+ budgets and better scalability for enterprise networks.
Do your servers support virtualization?
Yes, all our enterprise servers support virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Proxmox.
Can I upgrade the server later?
Most enterprise servers are highly upgradeable. You can typically add more RAM, storage drives, and PCIe cards. We can advise on upgrade paths for specific models.
What RAID configurations do you recommend?
It depends on your needs: RAID 1 for OS drives, RAID 5/6 for balanced performance and redundancy, RAID 10 for high performance databases. We can configure your preferred RAID setup before shipping.
What remote management options are available?
Dell servers include iDRAC, HPE servers have iLO, and most enterprise switches support SSH, SNMP, and web-based management. These allow full remote administration and monitoring capabilities.
Should I connect both power supplies on dual PSU equipment?
Yes, always connect both power supplies. This provides redundancy and distributes the electrical load evenly between both PSUs, extending their lifespan. If one PSU fails, your server or switch continues running without interruption. We also recommend connecting each PSU to a separate power circuit or UPS for maximum reliability.
What are the power and cooling requirements?
Enterprise servers typically require 110-240V power and generate significant heat. Ensure adequate rack ventilation with front to back airflow. Most 1U servers draw 300-500W, while 2U servers can draw 500-1000W under full load.
What's the difference between SAS, SATA, HDD, and SSD drives?
Drive types: HDD (Hard Disk Drive) uses spinning disks for mass storage, while SSD (Solid State Drive) uses flash memory for much faster performance. Interface types: SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) is enterprise grade with better reliability and performance, while SATA is more cost effective for general storage. For databases and high performance workloads, we recommend SAS SSDs. For bulk storage, SATA HDDs offer the best value.
What do CPU cores, threads, and cache mean?
Cores are independent processing units within a CPU, more cores allow parallel processing of multiple tasks. Threads (via Hyper-Threading/SMT) let each core handle two processes simultaneously, effectively doubling logical processors. Cache (L1/L2/L3) is ultra fast memory built into the CPU for frequently accessed data. For virtualization and databases, prioritize higher core counts and larger cache sizes.
